New Islamabad expressway stretch opens to traffic

The 11-kilometre section is expected to cut peak-hour travel time between the twin cities by about eighteen minutes.

An 11-kilometre section of the expressway opened to traffic on Thursday after a two-year construction programme.

Authorities said the section is expected to reduce peak-hour travel time between the twin cities by roughly eighteen minutes.

The remaining interchange work is scheduled for completion before the monsoon.
