An 11-kilometre section of the expressway opened to traffic on Thursday after a two-year construction programme.
Authorities said the section is expected to reduce peak-hour travel time between the twin cities by roughly eighteen minutes.
The remaining interchange work is scheduled for completion before the monsoon.
